First of all, I like that you titled the story. It helped us interpret what exactly was being depicted. I also loved the use of color in this flip book. The colors made everything seem more fun and surreal, which definitely went with the theme. It was like a new take on Jack and the Beanstalk in the way that the character was able to escape the mundane. Fun concept.
I thought it was really interesting how the theme of the book your flipbook was it went with the same theme of "escape." I also really liked your use of color and the sense of growth with the flower and the person climbing up it. It was cool that you did it vertically, and it really went with the theme of height and growth.
I also liked your title, and how all of your images were along one vertical plane. This was actually the first book that I looked at that used color, which i thought was really neat. The only thing is that your purple character got a little bit lost in all of the detail, but it was still really fun to look at.
Your story of escaping from reality was easily followed through the book and it was great that you incorporated it with the theme of the actual book you used. I liked the heart and peace sign you included and your flip-book has good transition. Good job!
The vertical movement of your animation lent itself quite nicely to this project. I liked that the stick figure encounters a heart and a peace sign on its way up. Peace and love: isn't that what we're all looking for?
I like how you had a title and a theme with yours, I think that naming it "Escaping Reality" helped with my expectations and made it easier to follow your story. I also liked your use of color and creativity with your animation.

ReplyDeleteThis is very cute. It reminded me of when you are daydreaming in class and you have a really random thought that weaves itself into a story.

ReplyDeleteI thought the movement up the plant was great. The color was also a really nice addition to the story and probably took a long time to do!
