Grid Art

Here is my Mrs. Packman grid art. I found it difficult to glue the paper on behind the yellow pom poms and I didn't realize the glue would dry so visably but in the end I was happy with how it turned out. I was trying to bring the packman grid from video games into a different form. It was definitely a time consuming process but I fun learning experience.
I thought it was very interesting seeing some of the famous piontillism paintings and how they were connected to the grid art we created. I love looking at the paintings up close and then standing back to admire their beauty.

  1. how adorable! and finally, MS.packmon gets some fricken recognition! i thought the pom poms were cute considering they are a girly type of craft. some could consider this a feminist piece!....esp with the oven grid as your foundation!

  2. Great job! I like how yours had a 3d dimension to it. The grid idea was great, and covering it with pom poms complimented your artwork: ms. Packman.
    Very creative!

  3. I love that used used the original "grid" idea from the old video games and incorporated it into your work. I also loved how you used many different mediums like buttons and beads with your pompoms. Great job!

  5. Mrs. Packman was an awesome idea that I would have never thought of. and using the cooling rack was also a really neat idea. and I like glitter, so the fact that the puffs that you used were glittery just made me like it that much more!

  6. I like the idea of using an iconic video game character for this grid project and it fits that the original video game is rooted in a grid format. Ms. Pac-Man was always a better video game than Pac-Man too.

  7. Your project was so cute! I really like how you used a cookie sheet and cooling tray to make Ms. Pac-Man on, because they are things that are just around the house. Very creative.

  8. Ms. Pacman was adorable. Using the pom poms, buttons, beads was great. The oven rack was an awesome idea and made the pacman almost look like a cookie on it.

  9. Ms. PacMan! This came out really cute. I love the iconic nature of the piece. It is immediately recognizable, but you were able to put your own twist on it.

  10. I loved the Ms. Pac-Man idea, it was great how it originated as a grid on the video game and you used that idea for your own project. I also liked the use of an oven rack as the canvas, I never would have thought to use something like that but it was a really simple and ready-made grid. Nicely done!
